Today we follow along with Bearded Brad as he embarks on a two-day offshore fishing adventure with his buddy Craig on the 27 Blackfin. They set out for an oil rig 100 miles offshore and plan to fish around the structure throughout the night. Their target species include a variety of game fish, and they employ different fishing techniques such as slow-pitch jigging, chunking, and trolling.

Upon reaching the oil rig, they fuel their boat with an additional 50 gallons to ensure they have enough to fish all night and return home the next day. As they begin fishing, they encounter numerous boats also trying their luck around the oil rig.

Throughout the night, they catch several blackfin tuna, which they keep in their specialized tuna tubes to keep the fish alive and healthy. The plan is to use these tuna as bait for larger fish such as wahoo.

As the sun rises, they troll around the oil rig with bait and squid rigs, trying to catch more blackfin for live bait. However, this tactic is less successful than they had hoped, so they switch to high-speed trolling with cowbells to target wahoo. Despite worsening weather conditions, they hook and land two wahoos, making the trip even more exciting.

Before returning to shore, they try their luck at bottom fishing in 200-foot depths. Bearded Brad starts with a lightweight setup but quickly realizes it is no match for the powerful fish. He switches to a heavier jigging setup and successfully brings up a large amberjack, which they release due to being out of season.

The adventure concludes with a bit of a scare when their anchor comes loose while trying to return to the pass. With only two miles left, they encounter engine trouble and lose power for a brief moment. However, they ultimately return to shore safely, ending their exciting offshore fishing experience.

Overall, Bearded Brad's offshore fishing trip provided a thrilling adventure filled with different fishing techniques and various game fish. Despite some challenges along the way, it serves as a reminder of the excitement and unpredictability of offshore fishing.
